Annual Blast Conference
Held annually in Tampa, FL since 2004, this event is hosted by DVBIC and the James A Haley Veterans' Hospital Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center.
Invited guests will learn the most recent information on the treatment and rehabilitation of blast injuries from the perspective of the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the private sector. The intended audience includes physicians, nurses, physician assistants, behavioral health professionals, neuropsychologists, first responders, social workers, case managers, speech & language pathologists, occupational & physical therapists & chaplains. Annual TBI Military Training Conference
Held annually in Washington, DC since 2007, this event is hosted by DVBIC for invited military healthcare providers who treat patients and care for families that experience traumatic brain injury. This includes, but is not limited to, primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurses, social workers, care coordinators, neurologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral health specialists, neuropsychologists, nurse educators, first responders and chaplains. Great Plains Regional Medical Command and Brooke Army Medical Center - Grand Rounds on Traumatic Brain Injury
This series takes place on the second Tuesday of each month and is jointly sponsored with Veterans Health Affairs. It features advances in medical science and care from the perspective of world renowned experts in TBI. Military healthcare providers may attend the lecture via VTC from participating sites. Virginia NeuroCare - "Third Thursday at Three" Speaker Series
This monthly series looks at special health issues and all aspects of care, recovery and living with TBI. This event is audio only – participation is open to the public. Register in advance to receive the PowerPoint presentation and earn one Certified Case Management or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor continuing education unit. Walter Reed Army Medical Center - "TBI Staff Lecture Series"
This series is held on the first Thursday of every month from 1430-1530 in the Radiology Conference Room. Others may participate through tele/videoconference.
These lectures offer clinical perspectives on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with Traumatic Brain Injury. Clinicians share their knowledge, expertise and real life experiences treating service members who have sustained a TBI or concussion during current combat deployments. Programs are designed to educate and inform military, VA and civilian health providers on strategies for symptom management, clinical practice guidelines and systems to improve medical transition and care coordination across health networks.
Future programs will be archived for viewing by the public. Speakers include WRAMC staff, DVBIC staff, and guest lecturers. Military and VA healthcare providers may attend this lecture series at select sites.
